In a well written paragraph, tell me which character from the Outsiders you would like to be your friend. Use the BOOK with page numbers and paragraph numbers.
The character that i would most likely want to be my friend is Pony Boy. I would like to be Pony Boy's friend because he loves books (page 2 paragraph 1). I would also like to be Pony's friend because he is very smart (pg 4 paragraph) and he is very sensitive. i would also like to be pony's friend because he and i are allot alike. we both have a group of friends that stick up for us if we need it. we also
We all know that the fifth commandment is: Thou shall not kill. With that in mind, tell me what you would be feeling AND what you would do now if you were Johnny at the end of Chapter 4.
If I were Johnny I would never forgive myself. I think that hiding out in a church was not the best thing to do because then every day I would be reminded of what I did and that would make me depressed. I would be scared to death if I did what he did. I would be sticking to Pony Boy like a hawk sticks on its prey when its hungry. I might even try to start a new life in the nearest town. When I do something bad I always crack I can never keep it to myself. After about a week I would hope that when soda would comes that Pony Boy would be there with me because I would never be able to face him by myself. Hi Sarah, it's Michaela. Like you said, it is hard for me to keep something to myself too, but I think that I would be able to keep my mouth shut about something this serious. If I would slip and tell somebody then they would probably call the police. I do not think I could ever tell someone that I committed a crime that horrific. If I were Johnny I would be very scared that the police would find me and put me in jail. In Johnny's defense, if he had not done something, Bob probably would have killed Ponyboy so I think he did the right thing in trying to save him. Although, I do think he should have done something other than killing Bob. Awesome job!
Hey Sarah,
It is Katie Starsky. I am commenting on your second response. I agree with you that it isn't the best idea to go in a church. I would feel that horrible guilt every day that I killed someone. That is a great idea to try to start a new life in the nearest town. I never even thought of that idea! I think that it would be great to try and start a new life because then you could try to become a better person. I think that it would be so hard to face Bob's family and tell them that their son died. However I think that it also would be scary to know that your best friend killed someone and you were there (even if you couldn't see becuase your head was in the water). I agree with Michaela that it was self-defence. Great Job!! See you around!!

B. Explain what Ponyboy finds out about Randy and the other Socs at the end of Chapter 7.
The thing that Ponyboy finds out is that Socs are just like them. "he's just a guy. he just wanted to talk." is what Pony said in chapter 7. When i was reading the last couple pages of the chapter i realized someting, Bob was spoiled to death (literaly). Randy said that he just wanted someone to say no to him but his parents always spoiled him. Most people always think i would be really cool to never get in trouble for no matter what you did. But thats why Bob died he jwas so mad that he wanted to get in a fight. when Randy was telling Pony this he felt really comfortable ans that just proves that people are all the same.
A. When we get to know people better, we usually like them more. If that's true, what could we do if we really don't like someone? When we don't like someone we usually we tend to try to avoid that person. One way that my mom always tells me to do is to try to become friends with that person. Sometimes it works but other times it just makes it worse. If that way doesn't work for me I just try to be nice to that person. Other times people just go to far for me so I tell a teacher or an adult like my mom. Finally if that person just doesn't leave me alone or there just pushing me a little to far, I end up just avoiding that person.
Hi Sarah,
Nice job here. Your responses show depth and understanding of the characters. The one thing that sticks out to me, is that you don't say you would turn yourself in to the police. Since Johnny didn't WANT to kill anyone, that would make a big difference. In our next wiki, you are going to have to be more careful with your conventions. You have a number of typos. Good work over all. Mrs. Best
